Mrs. Bonnie J. Collins was the president of the NMCC after Dr. Clara Brawner. Continuing the legacy, Mrs. Collins, a woman of determination with a heart filled with love for people, took on the major tasks of helping out anyone in need. With having a personality of great influence, Mrs. Collins was driven by her passion and determination to serve with helping hands. She focused on her goals fearlessly, but boldly and full of courage to approach the people of the community. Many people and companies saw the passion she had for the continuation of the NMCC, and commited to helping out in many ways. Throughout the entire North Memphis Civic Club, her spirit lives on, leaving behind literature and an amazing legacy to uphold. Mrs. Collins ran the North Memphis Civic Club to serve within the community as a light of help, hope, and as the hands of God. The NMCC provided help and safety to people in need, gave hope to people who felt like their backs were against the wall, fed people throughout the holiday seasons, gave school supplies to children within the community, and provided a listening ear for anyone who needed it. The community LOVED her and still speaks of her great works and influence upon the people. Mrs. Bonnie Collins was woman of great determination, who understood the importance of unity. She was a woman of love, service, and a natural born leader. Mrs. Bonnie J. Collins, we honor you.
